Oh, how I love to listen to music. The sounds of each sweet melody, whether a ballad or rock song makes me tap my foot and belt out each note along with the artist. Here are some of my favorites.
Rebecca St. James is one of my favorite Christian artists. I met her after one of her concerts and had a chance to chat with her. She is a woman desiring to seek after God with all she has. If you read her lyrics or listen to one of her songs, it is clear that she loves the Lord with all of her being. Plus, she desires to share the Truth with those in her audience (especially young teen girls). She also spreads her message of purity before marriage, which is presented in the video below. She has even written a book about it. It’s clear that her life coincides with the message that she spreads. I respect her greatly for her views and for staying true to them.
Jennifer Knapp is another great Christian Artist. She plays the guitar, writes her own songs and loves the Lord. She hasn’t released a CD in a while, but I would highly recommend her past-released CDs. Since I have tried to learn guitar myself, I am drawn to her music. Yet, the sound of her voice is also a unique sound. She sings at a level that I can join in too (not too high). At one point in time, I was dubbed as Jennifer Knapp’s sister within InterVarsity. One person even believed that was true.
I also enjoy By The Tree, Mercy Me, Jeremy Camp, Salvador, the original Sonicflood (not the re-made band), Jeff Deyo, Jars of Clay, Caedmon’s Call, Casting Crowns, Kendall Payne, ABBA, Celine Dion, Bette Midler and many others.
